Monica O'Brien (Ret.)

Monica joined the firm in 1979 and retired effective year end 2017. Her talents and expertise included all aspects of commercial litigation, including business disputes, breach-of-contract actions, business torts, unfair competition claims, collection matters, real estate and foreclosure litigation, and other conflicts. She also counseled clients on employment matters, including wage-and-hour issues, discrimination, hiring, discipline, and termination, and is widely experienced in drafting employment contracts, agreements, and policies. During her career as a civil litigator, Monica successfully handled many arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

Personal

In her free time, Monica enjoys spending time with her husband, David Degner, and her three daughters, keeping fit, and playing the alto sax in a local community jazz band.
